Above The Ruins is an Action Adventure Trope.

After a climatic fight or disaster, the protagonists escape to higher ground where they can have a good look at the ruins and general devastation they have left behind them.

Game and Story Use

• If you have a particularly apocalyptic fight in your campaign, you owe your players to have a scene like this. Be extremely descriptive when impressing the large scale of the devastation upon them, so that they can say things like "Wow!" and "We survived this!"
  • It's even more important if they have reason to say: "Oh my God! We caused this?"
