Game and Story Use

  • This is a good technique to learn as a GM. After all, the actions of the player characters tend to be highly unpredictable, and they might very well veer of drastically from your carefully-laid plans for the campaign. But if you take enough notes, you can then "reveal" the deep plots behind all the randomness and be thought of as a GMing genius - despite the fact that you didn't plan any of this.
    • This is especially the case for campaigns that grow from a simple setting. You start the characters in a town, and build the rest of the world as the chacaters explore it.
