Armenia is a democratic country in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia.
The Armenian language has it's own unique alphabet, that originally had 36 letters.
Armenian History:
- 401 BC: Greek army traveling through Armenia eats Mad Honey and loses it.
- 100 BC: Tigranes II of Armenia is placed on Armenian throne by the Parthians.
- 301: King Tiridates III of Armenia declares Christianity the official state religion of Armenia. It is the earliest/first country in the world to officially be a Christian nation.
- 405: Mesrop Mashtots invents the Armenian alphabet.
- 1894: The first massacre of Armenians by the Ottoman Empire
- 1914 to 1923: Death toll estimates for the Armenian Genocide range between 0.8 and 1.8 million, with 1.5 million being the most commonly agreed upon number. The villains in this tragedy are the Ottoman Empire, but modern Turkey continues to lobby other nations to spin, downplay or deny it ever happened.
- 1922: Armenia becomes part of the Soviet Union
- 1939: Adolf Hitler defends his own genocidal programs by asking ""Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?"
- 1991: Armenia declares it's sovereignty from the Soviet Union
- 2012: A Hero’s Welcome for a Convicted Killer Reignites Tensions - an Azerbaijani murderer of an Armenian student goes free, causing major tensions.

- Ancient Armenia - the idea of Armenia as a state goes back to the 6th Century BC. It was proceeded by a kingdom known as Urartu that overlaped part of the region, and existed as far back as the 9th Century BC.
- Satrapy of Armenia - Armenia was a Satrapy vassal state of the Achaemenid Empire (AKA the Persian Empire)
- Roman Armenia - Armenia was a Province of Roman Empire for a few brief years, from 114 to 118
- Kingdom of Armenia - The first nation in the world to recognize Christianity as its official state religion.
- While a separate Kingdom, for various periods the Kingdom of Armenia was allied with various larger and stronger Imperial partners, including the Seleucid Empire, the Roman Empire, and the Parthian Empire.
- In later centuries, Armenia would end up in similar relationships with Safavid Persia and the Russian Empire(see Russia)
- The Ottoman Empire carried out a series of dreadful massacres on the Armenia people , starting in 1894 and lasting until 1923. Death toll estimates for the Armenian Genocide range between 0.8 and 1.8 million.
