Armorer
Basic Information
The term armorer (also armourer) can have two meanings, both of which are professions.
- A person who makes armour, especially a craftsman who does so (not someone on an assembly line). For more on this definition, see Armorsmith.
- A person who maintains an armory, or services the weapons of a military or police unit. This sometimes overlaps with a gunsmith, but has additional responsibilities, such as maintaining official stockpiles of ammunition and explosives.
Where such things exist, an armourer may also be someone who maintains and repairs power armour (possibly even on the battlefield).
