Basic Information
A binary star is a solar system in which the primary is actually a pair of stars, usually co-orbiting a central point (although it is possible for two stars of radically different masses to have a less equitable arrangement).
Obviously the orbital mechanics of such a system are "interesting" compared to those of one with a single primary and the habitable zoning not - yet - understood at all.
Compare, for reference, to a trinary star.
