Cats And Dogs Banned By Saudi Religious Police

December 18, 2006: The Committee for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice of Saudi Arabia have issued a decree that forbids the sale of dogs and cats in the cities of Jiddah and Mecca. This is strange, since while dogs are considered unclean in Islam, the prophet Muhammad was reported to be very fond of cats.
