Class F Star
Basic Information
Class F Stars are white and white-yellow stars. They are a little hotter, and often a little larger, than our sun. They're fairly rare, representing only 1 in 33 of the main sequence stars in our region of the galaxy. See also: F V Star
Chemically, in addition to the Hydrogen and Helium common to all stars, they also have a good amount of Calcium, as well as ionized metals and neutral metals, in particular Iron and Chromium.
Named stars of Class F:
- Arrakis (not the space-spice-producing planet of Dune fame)
- Canopus
- Procyon
- Gamma Virginis
