Class K Star
Basic Information
Class K stars are orange stars, a little colder than our own sun. They range from huge Supergiants down to dwarf stars like the K V class. About 1 in 8 of the main sequence stars in our region of the galaxy are class K.
The normal helium and hydrogen of stars is supplemented in K class stars by significant Manganese, Iron, Silicon, and Titanium Oxide.

Game and Story Use
- Main Sequence K V Stars are good candidates to be the homeworld of aliens, as they are only a little colder than our sun, but have a much longer expected stellar lifespan.
- And since Class K stars are so common (1 in 8), one would expect a universe teaming with life. See Loads and Loads of Races and Fermi's Paradox.
