Exotic Matter
Basic Information
Exotic Matter is a hypothetical form of matter. Most commonly and properly it refers to matter that has Negative Mass. More information can be found on the Negative Mass page.
Kinda Sorta Exotic Matter
The term is also casually attached to any material which is difficult to produce, or which exhibits unusual properties. That's not technically accurate, but it happens, so there's a chance any reference in science fiction or sloppy popular science is actually refering to one of the following:
- antihydrogen
- antiprotonic helium
- antimatter
- Bose-Einstein condensate
- color-glass condensate
- dark matter
- degenerate matter
- exotic atom
- exotic baryon
- fermionic condensate
- fullerene
- hypernuclear atom
- kaonic hydrogen
- kaonium
- mesonic molecule
- metallic hydrogen
- mirror-matter
- muonic atom
- muonium
- nanotube
- neutronium
- Non-Baryonic Matter
- nuclear matter
- photonic matter
- pionic atom
- pionium
- Positronium
- QCD matter
- quantum spin liquid
- quark-gluon plasma
- quarkonium
- quasiparticle atom
- Rydberg matter
- Rydberg polaron
- strange matter
- string-net liquid
- supercritical fluid
- true muonium
- unobtanium
