I can't really think of a good reason why not, other than my inner purist who thinks that it's cheating. Wikipedia wouldn't stand for adding original content unsupported by facts and notability, but then as Jürgen points out on our home page, we aren't Wikipedia. Go for it.

Another possible place for home-brew monsters and customized creatures is the Essays section, which I really ought to add something to.
