Another Random Generator

The Random Animal Hybrid was another rather obvious application of the random function. It's not really very functional yet - since only four appropriate animals have entries in the wiki - but hopefully we can expand on that in the future…

Not that we don't already have plenty to do…

We could also make a "body_parts" tag (and the corresponding pages), so that this animal hybrid generator could be revised to tell you just what portions of the critter resembled various animals.

Such a tag could then also feed a random hit location generator, or a critical hits generator.

Sounds promising, but might be a tricky given that not all animals have the same body parts (wings, prehensile snouts, etc.).

We should probably wait with this until we have a greater variety of animals - then we could create something similar to the Random Characters generator, with each body part getting represented by different tags:

• Head: Uses all entries with the natural_animal tag. (0-10 tabs)
• Mouth: Uses all entries with the natural_animal tag.(0-2 tabs)
• Horns: Uses all entries with the horned_animal tag. (0-1 tabs)
• Body: Uses all entries with the natural_animal tag. (1-2 tabs)
• Legs: Uses all entries with the legged_animal tag. (0-5 tabs)
• Wings: Uses all entries with the winged_animal tag. (0-3 tabs)

And so forth.

Because this has a lot of application for my RP group, I intend to add as many animals as I can, to help broaden the selection a bit.

That would be most kind of you - I'll admit I did a double take when I saw the Ibis appear, but then I thought about the Egyptians … amongst others and things became clearer.

Can't help thinking this particular page ought to be called an Eldritch Abomination generator though…

Well I'll probably eventually add the Ibis in general, but I had to make a bit for the Northern Bald Ibis itself.

Mostly because it's the most terrifyingly awesome and badass bird I've ever seen.
