I did a check on Wikipedia to see if I could expand this any. It had nothing for "Malemaker". Then I did a Yahoo search and got one useful hit: a list of obscure professions, possibly the same one we cribbed for our Big List-O-All Occupations, which mentions it and simply says "A maker of bags." That's it.

So… I guess we leave the page as is.

I guess it's some massively obsolete term - I think whoever composed the list of (?medieval?) professions page took a list dump from somewhere which reproduced period terms. Still, I guess it's useful for anyone with a period source in which someone is listed as a "malemaker" and needs information - personally I would have chalked it up as a typo after a brief, sarcastic, consideration of gender-reassignment surgeons.

Although I'd be amazed if there were (m)any people in the middle ages who were so specialised that they only made bags and pouches…

I poked around the net, and found a little bit more info on the term. It's almost a real page now.
