I think we may have made a mistake by defining "Outlaw" mainly in terms of the American West - how would we feel about building a sub-page for the Western Character and re-dedicating the top level to the older historical concept of the Outlaw?
That sounds reasonable. I think that page came from the time one of our Arcanists did a slew of pages on Wild West Professions and stuff, which is why half of the results of the "Random Character Generator" look like they walked off the set of a John Wayne movie.

It is accomplished.
The old page content is now living at "Wild West Outlaw" and we have new page content about the older version.
Colonel,
I agree with your decision to make the "outlaw" page not just be about Wild West Outlaws. The new content is good, too. So thank you for doing that.
However, it seems that the way you went about doing this was to copy-paste the original page here into a new page, then edit this page. I think there's a better way to do that, especially for heavily-linked pages such as this one.
My advice for next time is that it would be a good idea to use the "rename" button on the original page (accessed from the "options" menu at the lower right corner of the page) to change the original page name to "wild west outlaw". While doing so, click the "show dependencies" button that appears just above the entry box for the new name. Click the "try to fix" button for the 20+ links that show up (or at least all the ones that sound Western in theme). Then submit the new name. Wait a bit for that to process, then make a new page entitled "outlaw".
The reason why that would be better is because renaming a page and using those buttons automatically changes nearly all the pages that link to it. There's about 25 pages that link to "outlaw" and at least 20 of them very specifically refer to the wild west version. Renaming would vastly simplify the process of fixing those links, most of which are now pointed at the wrong page. Our choices now are to change the links manually, revert and delete and do it all over again by the other method, or leave those pages linked to the wrong spot, none of which are ideal options. I'll probably go change them manually. It's a bit of a drag, but probably the easiest fix under the circumstances. EDIT: I have visited the individual pages and fixed the link where appropriate.
Not a big deal. Just something to keep in mind for the next time a situation like this comes up.
Didn't even know that was possible … sorry about the trail of destruction and thanks for the tip.
