Handwavium
Basic Information
Handwavium is a type of light-weight Phlebotinum used purely to hand wave a plot element or some sort of magic and powers. It definitely doesn't exist, and probably can't exist, and I don't recommend staring directly at it. It's about one step up from Green Rocks, but will remain so only as long as you don't think about it. Any real examination will result in a Wall Banger.
If attributable in setting, you will probably find a wizard did it.
