Summary
April 27, 2008: Many cities in Eastern Germany have lost as much as one-fifth of their population, and are likely to lose more in the future. These cities are now searching for ways of managing their shrinkage, including turning vast tracts of formerly inhabited areas into parks and concentrating the population in smaller "urban cores".

- If your campaign features similar cities whose population has also shrunk drastically without an overturn of civil society, East German cities might be a good model for describing them.
- In an Urban Fantasy campaign, maybe the "city spirits" of these locations have been under mystical attacks, or are suffering from supernatural diseases.
