Summary

August 11, 2009: According to a "whistleblower" - a former executive with a major American health insurance corporation - are behind many of the current disruptions of town hall meetings, as well as other disinformation currently being spread to stop the current attempts at health care reform. Their reason for this is that their profits have skyrocketed by 400% from 2000 to 2007, and now they fear a reduction in those profits.

  • Disinformation campaigns by a political or economic faction of a nation represent useful adventure opportunities, and player characters might be hired by either side - either spreading or stopping the disinformation.
    • And since this is a battle over public opinion, the PCs need to be careful that they aren't caught doing something ethically dubious.
      • Note that this does not mean that they shouldn't do something dubious - just that they shouldn't get caught.
