Law Man

Basic Information

A stock character from the westerns the Law Man is involved in the enforcement of law and order on America's wild frontier.

The Sheriff and his deputies are probably the most common incarnations of this, followed by US Marshals, Town Marshals, and The Hanging Judge. He can be a reasonable authority figure or an outright villain, depending on the needs of the plot. He can even be a PC - or a patron if they need to be rounded up into a posse.
