Meteor Crater

Basic Information

Meteor Crater, also known as Barringer Crater after the mining engineer who laid a claim to it, is a meteorite impact crater about 43 miles east of Flagstaff, Arizona and has a diameter of 0.737 miles. It is privately owned by the Barringer Crater Company (still owned by the same family) which claims that the crater is "the most well known, best preserved meteorite crater on Earth".
