Molecatcher

Basic Information

A molecatcher is a person who traps and kills moles as a means of protecting agricultural and garden crops from damage, keeping pastures safe for livestock and horses, and preventing undue moisture evaporation from soil. I find it likely that, in addition to moles, these professionals would have been adept at catching other cropland pests that behaved similarly to moles, such as gophers and prairie dogs, perhaps even rabbits.

• A molecatcher is probably someone with a wide range of traps and tools for luring underground creatures. They could be a source for similar items an adventuring party would need for a dungeon crawl, or even decide to come along to guide.
