Mount Shasta

Basic Information

Mount Shasta is a volcano in Northern California. Its slopes have been inhabited for thousands of years, and it features prominently in numerous myths and legends. Groups of Native Americans have identified it as the center of Creation, where the "Great Spirit" entered the world and dwelled for a time. In some New Age beliefs, an underground city named "Telos" which is inhabited by settlers from the lost continent of Lemuria is located there. The Count of St. Germain is said to have been there in 1930. There are also numerous accounts of sightings of ghosts, UFOs, and bigfoot. It also supposedly has an entrance to the Hollow Earth.
