Plant

Basic Information

Plants are eukaryotic macro-organisms, generally characterised by their rigid, cellulose based cell walls and trophic production. The group of protists known as protophyta are sometimes included in the category as "single celled plants". Plants are generally non-motile but some have a degree of motility in at least part of their structure, if not for the organism as a whole. Most plants are also non-mobile, being at least semi-permanently anchored to a substrate for the majority of their lifespan.
