Basic Information

Roman Republic is the period of Ancient Rome from 509 BC to 27 BC. This era starts with the overthrow of the Roman Kingdom, and ends with the rise of the Roman Empire. The Republic is the era where the Roman Senate had a lot of power, and two Roman Consuls were elected to rule each year.
