Semi Automatic Action
Basic Information
Semi Automatic Action is the mode of operation for a firearm by which, once the weapon is cocked a single pull of the trigger fires one round of ammunition and then re-cocks the action and loads a new round from the magazine.
This is the action of the self loader pistol and the self-loading rifle and is common amongst modern artillery and other cannon - although some of these are unable to self load and merely recycle to an open breech.
