Sex Ratio
Basic Information
The sex ratio is the ratio of males to females in a population. Among humans, the ratio at birth is generally 105 boys to 100 girls, but social and environmental factors may change that in older age groups.

Game and Story Use
- While humans normally have a fairly even sex ratio, this may be changed through selective reproduction (prenatal diagnosis and abortion of the "wrong gender", human genetic engineering which alters the ratio, and so on), with interesting sociological results. Note that this need not be constricted to modern-day or futuristic societies - magic may be able to replicate those effects as well.
- Non-human species might start out with strongly skewed sex ratios, which might also appear together with sexual dimorphism.
- Human societies with a sex ratio biased towards males will likely have a lot of aggressive young men who will be prone to take their aggression outwards (a similar effect can be observed in societies that practice polygamy).
- Human societies with a sex ratio biased towards females will likely be unable to maintain current gender roles, opening up more social and job opportunities for women.
