Slave Reparations Scam

Basic Information

The slave reparations scam consists of a message claiming that the United States government is providing money to the descendants of former slaves as compensation. In order to claim this money, the message requests information such as the claimant's name, address, and social security information. Once provided, this information is then used to commit identity theft; it is possible that the claimant may also be asked to provide a "processing fee".
