Basic Information
South American Folklore is the folklore of the people and cultures of South America. It is heavily influenced by the Mythology of the native cultures of the region, such as Inca mythology, Chilota mythology, Guaraní mythology, and Mapuche mythology.
It may have some cross-over with mythologies of nearby regions, such as Aztec mythology, Maya mythology, Olmec mythology and Haitian mythology. Via colonization and popular media it can also cross-over with Spanish Mythology, the Folklore of the United States and the Mayincatec trope.
