Welcome to the Arcana Wiki!

Legends, mythology, UFO lore, Conspiracy theories, Fiction, and even (seemingly) mundane cultural traditions from other countries. These can and have been used to inspire role-playing game adventures and even entire campaign settings. This wiki aims to collect information about all those, ready for gamers - and then adds suggestions by other gamers - for actually using them in your game.

Note that this isn't Wikipedia and our standards for inclusion aren't about "notability", our only standard is: "Would this be interesting [in an RPG]?" Our inspiration comes from the Wikipedia but also TV Tropes, multiple news sites and blogs - as long as we can get game and story ideas out of it we want to make use of it.

Attention, first time visitors!

Welcome! We're glad you're here and hope you find stuff on our site you find useful and interesting, or at least weird. You'll note that, like the Other Wiki, our pages are liberally peppered with links to other pages. These come in two flavors: Blue Links and Red Links.
The Blue Links will take you to other pages on this site. (Except for the Dark Blue Links which go to other sites outside Arcana Wiki)
The Red Links are placeholders for pages we haven't created yet. There are a lot of 'em. We're ambitious. So if you click on one of the Red Links, it will assume you want to create a new page. This is important:

Do Not Click on a Red Link Unless You Wish to Create A New Page.

If you do wish to create a new page, you are welcome to do this; we're happy to add new material. But we suggest that before doing so you read What To Add To The Arcana Wiki first.

After What To Add To The Arcana Wiki, the next most important page for new contributors to read is What The Arcana Wiki Is Not.

The Arcana Wiki can use new material on pretty much any conceivable subject. However, for material which has high priority at the moment, see the To Do List.

You may also find it helpful to read Arcana Wiki Style Guide and the Artists' Guidelines. Those two "how to" pages are packed with tips and shortcuts for getting the most out of the wikidot interface and the arcanawiki format.

Those interested in reading the Arcana Wiki as an ebook while offline should take a look at the Arcana Wiki Ebook Project!
