The Gump

Basic Information

The Gump is someone who, unknown to the public at large, was present at one or more famous historical events and possibly even influenced or caused them. This is often done as a way of making the character more interesting.

Game and Story Use

• Adventure Seed: Fourth Biker of the Apocalypse

• This can tie a player character to the deeper background elements of the setting, and thus should be encouraged.
• This can also make an NPC more interesting ("I was at the Battle of X!"), and allow the GM to impart vital information on past events without making it appear forced.
• There might be a sinister reason for why the Gump always seems to be present at just the right time. Google "Blue Box" and "Doctor".
