Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
-William Blake
Basic Information
The tiger is the world's largest species of cat. Their fur has a distinctive stripe pattern.
While tigers only rarely eat wolves, they do compete with them for food, and sometimes kill wolves in struggles over territory. Being larger and individually stronger, tigers dominate in these struggles. More than once mankind has eliminated the tigers in a region (to protect ourselves or livestock), only to have wolves move in to fill the empty apex predator niche.
