Basic Information

Tombstone was a major boomtown in the American Old West, thanks to its silver mines. It was officially founded in 1879 and grew from a population of 100 to 14,000 in less than seven years. Along with wealth, it also attracted a fair amount of violence - the most famous incident being the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. Its graveyard, "Boot Hill" was named this way for the number of people who died with their boots on. However, several fires devastated the town and when the price of silver declined for a while so did the town, never to recover. As of 2007 it has a population of 1,562, most of which live from tourism. Multiple ghosts are said to still haunt the town.

Game and Story Use

  • In a modern-day occult game, the site of the town might be a perfect ritual ground for summoning old spirits of violence.
  • The site may always have been a bad place, frequented by spirits with a taste for violence - hence all of the shootings that took place there back in the day. Sometimes towns just get built in the wrong place.
