Trans-Global Highway
Basic Information
The Trans Global Highway is a proposal to connect all the continents of the earth via bridges and tunnels.
It would require numerous elements and additions to existing roadway superstructure. Including the following tunnels or bridges:
- One through the Bering Strait. connecting Alaska to Russia. See Bering Strait bridge
- Various tunnels connecting Japan to mainland Korea, Siberia, or other parts of mainland Asia. See Japan-Korea Undersea Tunnel
- One through the Strait of Gibraltar. See Gibralatar Tunnel
- A very long tunnel/bridge system connecting Australia to Papua New Guinea via the Torres Strait.
- Even longer systems connecting Papua New Guinea and the Phillipines to Indonesia.
- One spanning the Red Sea. See Bridge Of The Horns.
- A connection from Ireland to England. See Irish Sea Tunnel.
Existing Structures:
- Channel Tunnel, connecting England to France
- Oresund Bridge, which connects Denmark to Sweden

- Twenty Minutes Into The Future it may be possible to take a road trip from New York City to Dublin, and see most of the Northern Hemisphere in the process.
- As completion nears on a major component of the Trans-Global Highway, opposition from shipping and airline interests increases. Sailors or Pilots, fearing they will lose their jobs, picket or sabotage the construction site. The world economy spasms, leading to Great Depression III.
- After The End, the PCs are Nomadic Hunter-Gatherers traveling the world superhighways.
- In a mystically oriented campaign, this might be an attempt to harness or alter the planet's leylines.
