rating: 0+x

Summary

July 30, 2010: A Japanese oil tanker, the M. Star, suffered damage from an unknown cause as it was passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Crew members heard a blast and saw a flash, and many windows broke. Speculation as to the cause of the damage - which severely dented parts of the hull from the waterline up, but did not punch a hole in it - range from a freak wave to collision with a submarine or mine, to a terrorist attack.
