Game and Story Use
- Imagine humans used as hosts for parasitic larvae of an alien species who paralyze their prey while the larvae hatch. There's a known antidote for the paralysis effect… but getting rid of the larvae requires surgery before they burst out and kill their hosts (and mature into more critters attacking humans). For the afflicted humans, getting to a place where they can get surgery becomes a race against time, and a throughly horrifying experience.
- Reanimating dead cockroaches could be a hobby or early line of research for a Herbert West style of Mad Scientist. Since roaches are so resilient, they may make an especially suitable subject for necromantic biology.
